Voluntary Car Scheme

The Crediton & District scheme was setup in 1994. They exist to provide lifts in cars for frail, elderly people and people with disabilities who find public transport extremely difficult, either because they cannot walk to the bus stop or easily climb on or off the bus.

Transport is provided by volunteers using their own cars. It may not always be possible to arrange a lift as all the drivers are volunteers and cannot be expected to turn out on every occasion, although they will always do their best.

Arrange a journey

Call us on 01363 773303, Monday to Friday from 9am to 4.30pm. If we are unable to take your call please leave your name and telephone number and we will ring back. Please try to give at least 24 hours notice.

The co-ordinator can advise on the cost of the journey, whether a single or return journey. There is a schedule of charges based on mileage.
